Good News Sebastian! Need a nature day? Follow along as Diana explores Osprey Acres Stormwater Park!

I highly recommend a visit to Osprey Park in Vero Beach.

I had an eye-opening beautiful hike with ten awesome ladies through the new Osprey Acres Stormwater Park in south Indian River County off Oslo Road. They actually filter the water instead of poisoning the plants, water and fish with herbicide! They even use water lettuce as a useful plant instead of killing it!

Recently the town of Sebastian, Florida in northern Indian River County has a 166 acre stormwater park that is devoid of water birds and plants due to years of toxic spraying. The good news is we have scored a recent moratorium against spraying in favor of mechanical cutting only where necessary. Hopefully, our aquatic bio-filters will grow back now and the birds will be able safely return and thrive again in our Sebastian Storm water Park!

I highly recommend a visit to Osprey Park in Vero Beach. They are using nature to clean the water. We can improve water filtration ecosystems in our towns and throughout the country by following Indian River County’s lead.
